History
Villa is a unique building with a special character house structure. The building was built at the beginning of the 20th century and designed by the national architect of Iceland, Guðjón Samúelsson. Guðjón was the architect of the most popular church Hallgrimskirkja, the National Theatre, the main building of Reykjavik general hospital, and many other buildings in both in Reykjavik but also around Iceland.
Villa is painted in bright white with a black roof; the concrete is shaped in a style unique to Guðjón, which also can be seen in other buildings designed by him across Reykjavik.
Villa was completely renovated in 2013 as a guesthouse to accommodate travelers. Thanks to the renovation, clients can enjoy modern facilities, new furniture and showers. We offer our guests cozy rooms with maximum comfort and free high-speed wifi.
Villa is located downtown Reykjavik on Skölavorðustígur 30, which allows our guests to enjoy the many attractions that Reykjavik has to offer. Villa is only a few steps away from Hallgrímskirkja. Skölavorðustígur is a popular street thanks to the many events held here including: The Reykjavik Marathon, National Day of Iceland, Gay Pride, Reykjavik Bacon Festival and many other events.
Why not go out for dinner or buy souvenirs? You can be on the main shopping street, Laugavegur or in the old town, in just a few minutes' walk. Check out our Discover Iceland section to learn more about what you can see, do or eat in Reykjavik!
